UI Post-UTME Score Calculator — Calculate Your Aggregate
Calculate your University of Ibadan Post-UTME aggregate score. Enter your JAMB score and Post-UTME score to see your admission chances. Simple formula: (JAMB/8) + (Post-UTME/2).
Understanding the Aggregate Score
The University of Ibadan uses a simple two-component aggregate scoring system to determine admission:
Aggregate = (JAMB Score ÷ 8) + (Post-UTME Score ÷ 2)
- •JAMB contributes a maximum of 50 points (400/8 = 50)
- •Post-UTME contributes a maximum of 50 points (100/2 = 50)
- •Maximum possible aggregate: 100
Important: O'Level results are NOT part of the aggregate calculation. They are only a prerequisite — you need at least 5 credit passes in relevant subjects (including English and Mathematics). For College of Medicine and Pharmacy, these must be in one sitting.
Since JAMB and Post-UTME carry equal weight, a strong Post-UTME performance can fully compensate for a moderate JAMB score.
Score Calculation Examples
Example 1: Medicine candidate
- •JAMB: 350 → 350/8 = 43.75
- •Post-UTME: 72 → 72/2 = 36.00
- •Aggregate: 79.75 ✔️ (above 78.875 Medicine cut-off)
Example 2: Engineering candidate
- •JAMB: 300 → 300/8 = 37.50
- •Post-UTME: 68 → 68/2 = 34.00
- •Aggregate: 71.50 ✔️ (above 70.5 Mech. Eng. cut-off)
Example 3: Marginal candidate
- •JAMB: 250 → 250/8 = 31.25
- •Post-UTME: 60 → 60/2 = 30.00
- •Aggregate: 61.25 (sufficient for some Science/Arts courses, not enough for Medicine/Law/Engineering)
How to Improve Your Aggregate
Since both JAMB and Post-UTME contribute equally (max 50 points each), every mark in the Post-UTME is worth the same as a mark in JAMB.
- •Every 2-point improvement in Post-UTME = +1 point on your aggregate
- •Going from 60 to 80 in Post-UTME = +10 points aggregate boost
That 10-point difference can move you from 'not admitted' to 'admitted' for almost any course. Practice on StudyBond to maximize your Post-UTME score — it's the only component you can still control.
